About Alleged Press: Hello and welcome to Alleged Press. This venture is a wonderful collaboration between myself, Italian publisher Damiani Editore and an amazing group of creative hearts and minds. The original Alleged Press actually started over ten years ago when I began self-publishing small photocopied artist fanzines in very limited quantities. Although times have changed, surprisingly, the objective today remains at its heart very much the same. Our mission now is to create a unique series of wonderful monographs, beautifully designed and printed, which spotlight the works of young artists, graphic designers, photographers and filmmakers who we believe reflect the tempo of the times. It is our hope that this amazing series will entice and inspire those interested in art and design, while providing a valuable resource for students and researchers. For ten years (1992-2002) he was owner/director of the Alleged Gallery in New York. Since then, Rose has been working as a freelance curator, choosing artists for the Undefeated Billboard Project, a public art project in Los Angeles produced in conjunction with Nike. He is co-curator of the museum exhibition “Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art & Street Culture” which will tour the world through 2008. In addition to curating and publishing, Rose is a co-editor (along with Ed Templeton & Brendan Fowler) of ANP Quarterly, a free magazine produced in conjunction with RVCA. He also co-directed a feature documentary film, plays music in his band The Sads and continues to organize exhibitions in galleries and museums worldwide.
